Your new Makerspace is going to have all kinds of innovative technologies to learn and use, including digitization equipment! Digitization equipment allows for analog versions of content to be converted into digital formats.
There are four pieces of digitization equipment that will be available in the Makerspace:
All four of these pieces of equipment were on display and being demonstrated at a program held in conjunction with the Museum of Dufferin on September 18. The MoD is collecting photographs of people at play in the Dufferin County, so be sure to reach out to them if you have any you’d like to share.
And be sure to reach out to me, at [email protected], if you have any questions, or suggestions about other digitization equipment we should include in the new Makerspace. And start digging up those old analog videos, photos, and audio, and get them ready for digitization!

Hi, my name is Raghav Patel, and I am the new Makerspace Specialist for the Orangeville Public Library. I am working on the exciting project of creating the new Makerspace at the Alder Street location.
We have a dedicated room for this project but need to do extensive renovations to get it ready. I am visiting other libraries and creative studios to get inspiration about design and what equipment to purchase. We will also need to work with professionals on electrical and ventilation upgrades, and to create an entranceway that connects to the library.
As this will take several months, we brought our new 3D printer to the Mill Street Library to show you a piece of the technology that the new Makerspace will offer. Please drop by to see the printer in action and start thinking about what you want to 3D print!
It's important to me that we listen to any ideas that you may have. Send me an email at [email protected], if you have any questions, or any suggestions.
I hope you are all excited to connect, discover and soar in your magical new Makerspace. We will be sure to share news with you as this exciting project progresses.
The 3D printer was purchased with generous support from Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group’s L.E.A.F (Learning and Engagement Accelerator Fund) initiative.
